Programs

  • International Education Week (IEW) is dedicated to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This year, IEW is celebrated between November 14-18, 2016. Dedicated to IEW, the American Corner Budapest in co-operation with Fulbright EducationUSA organizes a university outreach program about the importance of international education. Presentation about studies in the U.S. will be delivered by Kornélia Litkei from the Fulbright EducationUSA advising center. Please note that registration for the event has been closed.
  • As part of our High School Outreach Series, the American Corner Budapest center will host a group of high school students. Presentation about the recent U.S. ELECTIONS will be delivered by Fulbright grantee ALLISON PINGLEY.
  • The guest of the evening will be MR MÁRTON UGRÓSDY who will discuss THE RESULTS OF THE 2016 U.S. PRESIDENTAL ELECTIONS. How did Donald Trump rise above all Republican candidates, and who were his supporters? What is the ‘ground game’ and how did it affect the final results? What kind of United States will the next president inherit? What we know for sure is that the 2016 election season was anything but usual, and most of what we knew about American politics seemed invalid for a long time. Join us for a post-mortem of the two campaigns, and ask your questions about the future of America and the World. RSVP required | KovacsV@state.gov

Join us for a cool Makers Space event to create scary Halloween objects and listen to hair-rising stories by Olivér Artúr Tóth from Két Egér Bookstore. Following the tradition of our funky themes (GREEN HALLOWEEN two years ago and, BAT-TIME BEFORE BEDTIME last year,), this year we spice our Halloween program with the introduction of various musical instruments that make scary-creepy sounds, presented by János Gerzson from Ethnosound. Tricky arts and crafts session is our treat for the day. Registration is NOT required for the event.
