Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute for High School Students - Summer 2017

The U.S. Embassy Budapest is soliciting applications for the 2017 Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute. The Institute will take place in June and July, 2017 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  All costs, including domestic and international travel, will be covered by the U.S. Embassy Budapest. Only students born between June 24, 1999 and June 24, 2001 are eligible for participation in the program. Only Hungarian citizens residing in Hungary are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 10, 2017.

Some of you are familiar with the Digital Communication Network exchange, other countries were recently added by our sponsor, ECA's Office of Citizen Exchanges. A total of 28 participants will be selected through an open competition process to come to the United States in one of two 18 day long professional programs, scheduled from June 11-28 and October 1-18, 2017.  The deadline is February 11, 2017.

The inaugural FIRST Global challenge will be held between 16-18 July, 2017 in Washington, DC. Each country will be represented by its chosen national team, which will compete with its self-assembled robot within constantly changing cooperative alliances of three teams each. One country’s team may win because it achieved the highest score by working within the best collaborative alliances.  But the ultimate goal is to provide all nations and their students an understanding of how STEM careers are a realistic and viable option for young people’s futures, particularly by increasing cooperation among nations through STEM.

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Scholars are intensive post-graduate level academic programs with integrated study tours whose purpose is to provide foreign university faculty and other scholars the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions. The Embassy of the United States of America and Hungarian-American Fulbright Commission are proud to announce Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders from Europe 2017 program for students interested in Social Entrepreneurship. The program will take place in June and July 2017. The Institute will be hosted by the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga. The deadline for candidate applications to be received is midnight on Friday, January 20, 2017.
