  • You are cordially invited to the Alumni Speaker Event Series of the U.S. Embassy and the American Corner Budapest on Thursday, MAY 4TH at 5:30 pm. The event will be dedicated to Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22. The guest of the evening will be DR. KATALIN SULYOK who will discuss the different ways in which uncertainty is present in science and in environmental law. She will demonstrate the very different approaches science and law adopt towards dealing with uncertainty. She will discuss some methods the different legal systems use to establish a causal link based on uncertain scientific facts for the purposes of awarding compensation or implementing protective policy measures. :: RSVP required via email to <KovacsD@state.gov>
  • The American Corner Budapest in co-operation with MigHelp began the semester with a Nonviolent Communication (NVC) workshop, conducted by EVA RAMBALA, Certified Trainer of the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. NVC is effective in helping people suspend judgment, freeing them from prejudice and culturally-patterned expectations. This greatly facilitates intercultural interaction. After the first introductory session on January 27th organized by AC Budapest, MigHelp will continue to host the event series. Part four of NVC will be held at 6pm on Friday, April 28th, 2017. The topic of present NVC session will be EMPATHY. Please note that limited seats are available. Participation is on a first register first serve basis.
