• You are cordially invited to the Alumni Speaker Event of the U.S. Embassy and the American Corner Budapest on Thursday, March 23, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. The event will be dedicated to WOMEN's HISTORY MONTH. The guest of the evening will be ZSOFIA BATA who will talk about biocatalysis and enzyme engineering. Catalysts are used to lower activation energy of a chemical reaction and increase the speed of the reaction. Biocatalysts fulfill the same role in an environmentally friendly manner. Enzyme engineering tailors these catalysts to meet the requirements of industrial applications. The talk will cover thecurrent state and future prospects of biocatalyst development. In the context of Women's History Month and women empowerment, Zsofia will also share her experiences about the situation of research in Hungary and in the U.S.; opportunities and challenges, from a woman’s perspective. :: RSVP required via email by March 22nd, 2017 to <>
